A mix of our scale, market insight and technical knowledge can keep prices down for your organisation, while outsourcing to Asteral within a managed setting means that you can attract VAT efficiencies with total cost savings over the course of the contract coming in at around 10-15% of the standard purchase price.

Governance and quality
Ensuring the safety of equipment provided via an Asteral managed service contract is our number one priority. From initial evaluation, through installation and maintenance, and on to end of life disposal, the quality of the assets in question is paramount.
To ensure this, Asteral operates within a comprehensive quality management system that is ISO 9001-certified and externally audited by NQA on an annual basis. Asteral also holds an MHRA Wholesale Dealer’s Licence for the supply of contrast media and operates a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) in full compliance with NHSLA and CQC standards.
With over 15 years of performance data on medical equipment, Asteral’s CMMS continues to ensure that you have accurate and accessible records in which to make informed decisions. Powered by Mainspring Healthcare Solutions, our CMMS also monitors asset inventories, mobile engineers’ schedules, helpdesk requests, reporting and our customer portal.
Outside of equipment performance, the IT infrastructure that supports our consumables service has been developed to provide integrated procurement, inventory management and procedure-level costings for Cardiology and Interventional Radiology departments.
A single point-of-contact
The Asteral Service Centre (ASC) provides a single point-of-contact for all equipment and services issues 24/7/365. This helps us ensure equipment uptimes in excess of 99%, maximising your asset utilisation and enhancing the patience experience.
Our team at the ASC will be able to access all the relevant information on our bespoke CMMS when you call, meaning that problems can be resolved quickly and planned maintenance can be arranged at times that are most suitable for you.
The fact that there is only one number to call means that clinical staff are able to maintain their focus on delivering patient care, rather than contacting multiple suppliers.
